Dear Students,
After much back-and-forth, the digitization of the semester ticket is finally complete.
It’s only been clear for about two weeks now that this is technically feasible and works smoothly, which is why this information is being shared on such short notice:
Starting October 1, 2026, the semester ticket will be available in digital form. An RMV chip card version will also be available as a backup option (in accordance with RMV regulations).
For affected students: A form to apply for this “emergency chip card option” will be made available in the coming weeks.
All THM students will also be informed about the transition to the digital semester ticket via email and social media (by AStA and THM, as well as other university departments).
Don’t worry: There’s a transition period until October 31, but after that, you’ll need a ticket in digital form or on an RMV chip card.
