‼️ Come in large numbers and bring your fellow students, Wimis, Hiwis and Profs with you.
Our education, future and jobs are at stake.
➡️ Hesse’s universities urgently need investment.
In Marburg, lecture halls are collapsing and in Giessen, entire departments are in the red. Academic staff are being swamped with administrative tasks, as a result of which teaching is getting worse every year.
➡️ The universities are currently negotiating the new higher education pact with the state of Hesse.
It should regulate how much money the universities receive for the next 5 years, including inflation and cost compensation.
‼️ After several postponements of the signing date and ongoing negotiations, we now know:
⚠️ The state of Hesse wants to cut millions.
➡️ This is catastrophic for the universities and means for us as students and workers at the universities:
– Job closures and staff cuts
– Overcrowded seminars, poor supervision and teaching
– No continued employment of auxiliary staff
– Possible deletion of entire subjects or degree programs
There is also a threat:
– Higher semester fees
– more expensive canteen food
– and we also fear the introduction of tuition fees
